Here is a list of some of the best destinations Sydney, Australia has to offer:

Sydney Opera House and Darling Harbour

If you are in Sydney, of course, you need to make a trip to the Sydney Opera House since it is the most recognized symbol in all of Sydney, if not all of Australia. The outline of the Opera House sitting along the water in Darling Harbour is often used in logos. Before your trip, you can visit their website to see what’s on and coordinate a show during your stay. Whether you decide on a show at the opera, you still have to take some time to visit it and shop and dine in Darling Harbour and the surrounding area.

Mainly Beach

Sydney is an urban experience with a bustling city life, but Mainly Beach is a short drive and a great way to balance out a vacation in the city with some of Australia’s nature and adventure. This seaside locale is home to water sports like kayaking, scuba diving, snorkelling, parasailing, and fishing. Then there are also beach activities like roller blading, biking, and ocean front dining.

Marine Aquarium and Taronga Zoo

If you want to be able to get close to Australia’s marine life, but not actually get into the water, the Marine Aquarium is the place for you to visit. It features animals from Australia’s rivers and surrounding oceans including some rare sea creatures from The Great Barrier Reef. The Taronga Zoo features both land and marine life from Australia. Guests at the zoo can learn about animal conservation and learn all about many different animals from the land Down Under.

Sydney Tower

To get a bird’s eye view of what is around Sydney, check out Sydney Tower, where you can view the city from above and experience fine dining at the top. The tower is one of the tallest in the southern hemisphere at 309 metres. The top three floors make up the Sydney Eye Tower Observation Deck and restaurants. Take a guided tour of the Skywalk, which is outside of the tower with glass floors to see straight down from 268 metres up.

Luna Park

If you want something fun for kids of all ages, Luna Park is for you. Experience rides, games, shows, and more in an amusement park and carnival like atmosphere. Eat at the Coney Island Café or a more sophisticated dining experience at The Deck with romantic views.

Powerhouse Museum

If you want to catch up on science and some Australian culture on your visit, see the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney. There are exhibits and attractions for adults and children there where you can learn about science, space, mechanics, and more.
