Wahooooo!!! You People are Amazing. Happy Kids Coming up!

Hurray! I have a bed to sleep in now!!!

Well, as much as I would love to credit this on my threat of going without sleep, or Dani’s threat to sleep outside, I’m sure that it was just your pure compassion that got us here. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, read the original post about the beds for Haiti project we started this week.

Fundraising Thermometer

I’m happy to announce that we’ve hit our goal of $2,070!!!!

We did it in about 72 hours none-the-less.  I am truly blown away and very proud of you all for your amazing support.

What does this mean?

Well, it means that there are going to be a whole lot of happy kids in Port au Prince, Haiti. On April 25th or 26th, Dani will be delivering the bunk beds, mattresses, pillows and sheets to the orphanage. Thanks to your donations, these 37 kids will go from sleeping on a cold cement floor without any sheets or pillows, to sleeping in beds. How amazing is that?

Will you Show us?

Yes. Dani is going to be making a video once she arrives back in Port au Prince. She will be documenting the process of delivering the beds to the orphanage so that you can see where your money has landed. I’m sure when you see the smiles of these kids you’ll be glad you did.

Can we Still Help?

Of course.  There are a number of organizations that you can work with.  The program that is helping us connect the dots on this project is called “Future for the Kids” and we hooked up with them at another great project known as Haiti Communitaire.  You can check out both via this link.
