5 Places in England to Indulge in Luxury
As a backpacker by trade, I revel in the opportunity to soak in a little bit of luxury whenever I can. England, with all its history and charm is one of the best places in the world to indulge in a little bit of luxury. There are few places on the planet where people put more emphasis on the finer things in life than in England. There are plenty of places within the country to indulge in these bits of luxury as well.
As much as you expected me to say London, I’ll bet you didn’t expect me to say Bournemouth right? But for me, there is nowhere better to experience luxury than on the beach. Get yourself on a yacht and cruise around the beautiful coastline of Southern England, or maybe just post yourself along the shore and enjoy some martinis. Hotel accommodation in Bournemouth too can be very good. For me, there’s nothing sweeter than sitting on the balcony of a luxury hotel and just taking in the beautiful view of the sea, and there are few places in England better to do that then in Bournemouth.
Of all the cities in England, Leeds is my favourite to spend time in. Sure, London has the grandeur, but Leeds is far more quaint and actually feels much more English to me. It is also a brilliant place to take in a touch of luxury. Personally, I recommend that you check yourself into one of the fine boutique hotels in Leeds. From there, book yourself a chauffeur to escort you around the city visiting some of the attractions such as the Grand Theater. If you’re looking for a bit of outdoor activity, check out Hyde park, or have a swing at one of the many golf courses in the Leeds area.
Ok, so London is a pretty obvious choice as a luxury destination in London. The beautiful city of London is one of the busiest travel destinations on the planet, and there are a wide variety of ways to treat yourself in the city. Head down to the theater district and grab a box seat to one of the famous musicals like the Lion King. If the decadence of afternoon tea is what you’re after, head to Bloomsbury. And when you’re ready to rest your head against a $3,000 a night pillow, check yourself into the beautiful Dorchester hotel.
