I’ve been closely guarding a bit of a secret of late, I suppose. Over the past couple years, I’ve known that I wanted to start running some photography workshops and tours in different parts of the world. I ran a really awesome one in Ireland last year, and that only stoked the fire more. However, I’ve been making excuses for the past little while as to why I haven’t run a new one yet. Well, the goal for the new year is to get these things running. We’re starting with PERU!! I’m pleased to announce that along with the incredibly talented Tiffany Wuest, I’ll be operating a 14 day photography tour in Peru May, 2015.
What to Book the Peru Photo Tour?
I’ve teamed up with the awesome people at Adventure.com to help me get this thing off the ground. Thus, if you want to book this workshop with me, head over to their website for the details and to book the trip.
If you want more information about the tour, read below, or download the detailed tour itinerary here.
Running a Photo tour/workshop just makes perfect sense to me. When I first left Canada to travel the world, I worked as a tour leader in Peru. Thus, it makes it easy for me. It also works well for guests as I’ve been through this part of the world countless times. I even lived in Peru for a while. Obviously, from an ease and comfort standpoint, a photo workshop in Peru is something that will be really fun and should be stress-free.
From a travel photography standpoint, too, Peru makes so much sense. By most metrics, Peru is one of the most diverse countries on the entire planet. There are just so many amazing things to photograph here. You have wildlife, landscapes, ruins, interesting people, culture, and some beautiful nature wrapped all together into on stunning country.Me on my 3rd visit to Machu Picchu
What is a Photo Tour/Workshop?
Imagine your typical small group tour of a country. Now, imagine that the focus of the trip was to take amazing photos well also experiencing the local culture. That’s basically it. We’re going to take you to some of the most amazingly photogenic locations in the country and make sure you get some incredible images. Moreover, Tiffany and I will be offering tutorials, photo tips, one-on-one sessions, and constant help to photographers along the way. Essentially, we’re going to take you to some incredible locations and show you how professional photographers work out in the field. By the end of it, you’ll feel like a pro and come away with some stunning work of your own.
What is the Recommended Photography Skill Level?
Any, really. Whether you’re a beginner or a pro, you’ll get a lot out of this. We have a maximum number of 12 participants set between 2 guides. So, if we feel the need to split the groups into 2, one for beginners and one for advanced photographers, we can do that. If you’re the type of person that still doesn’t know how to operate your camera, we’ll show you how. And, if you’re the type that feels really comfortable in the field shooting, we’ll show you how to get the most out of your images. All skill levels are welcome.
How Much does the Photo Tour Cost?
We’re charging $2,880USD for the tour, which I think is pretty reasonable for what you get. We decided on a budget that allowed us to stay in 3 star accommodation well still being affordable for everyone. Essentially, it’s comfortable for everyone, and affordable for most as well too. That cost includes all accommodation, all transport within the tour dates, a number of included activities such as Machu Pichu, and breakfast on all tour dates as well. You’ll need to cover things like flights to Lima and out of Cusco, lunch and dinner, and a couple optional activities.
Where can I Book or Get More Info?
I’ve teamed up with Adventure.com on this one. Thus, you can book, and get the best place to get information over on the tour page on their site. You can visit it by clicking here.
