Way back in the day when I made my very first solo backpacking trip, at the ripe age of 20, I booked my flights and travel insurance with a company called travelcuts. At that time, and still to this day, travelcuts was the premier go-to location for student travel and off-the-beaten-path destinations. So, you can imagine how excited I was when they contacted me to see if I wanted to be a part of a travel doc film festival they are hosting in the month of October.
The best part of it all? This travel film festival is open to all of you, and your video could win a healthy $2,000 travel card and an Optrix™ by Body Glove Kit!
About the Film Fest and How to Enter
The film festival is accepting entries from now until the 31st of October. You should produce a short and fun travel video, and then head over to the contest page to share it: https://www.travelcuts.com/
A great example of a travel doc video is this teaser from Peru by the travelcuts crew:
Also, don’t forget to tweet your video on Twitter and other social media with the hashtag #travelcutsDOC
At the end of October, the top three submissions will be selected by a panel of travel experts. The 3 finalists will be selected and shown and judged by a travel celebrity panel at the end of November. Of course, the winner will be crowned with the massive travel reward. For more information on the rules and regulations of the contest visit:https://www.travelcuts.com/
For those of you who are Twitter addicts like myself, be sure to join us October 21st at 9-10pm EST for a TweetUp where we’re going to be talking travel, adventure, and about the film fest. I always have a great time chatting travel on any outlet, and these Twitter TweetUps are always a great way to meet fellow travel-lovers.
As I mentioned in the introduction, travelcuts is a leader in Canada when it comes to travel. They are especially fantastic in providing well-priced travel insurance that will cover you even in your most adventurous travels. I’ve used their insurance for over 10 years now, and I can’t see that changing any time soon. Moreover, what many people might not realize is that travelcuts has also become a go-to resource for off-the-beaten-path experiences, travel information, and adventure travel packages.
Travelcuts has also launched a new website to make it easier for travellers to book their travel insurance, hotels, or flights online. And of course, if you’re a travel-addict, they’ve also published a new travel blog loaded with great content: http://blog.travelcuts.com/
What’s Next on the Travel Blog
I’m off to Cuba for a couple weeks in October, but before I get into the content from there, I have 5 or 6 videos from the Galapagos Islands where I spent the past week on assignment. Believe me, that was the trip of a lifetime, and I have a lot of cool things to share from that amazing travel destination.
