Halloween is that time of year when all manner of ghosts, ghouls and various nameless nasties make their way out of the woodwork. While many of you probably grew out of being frightened by such mythical creatures a long time ago, there’s few things more fun than letting yourself get caught up in the (black) magic and excitement of Halloween for one night of the year.
If you’re looking to reawaken your credulous and fearful inner child this year and you’re after a real fright, visiting Bran Castle in Transylvania will almost certainly do the trick. It was once the residence of Vlad the Impaler, the bloodthirsty tyrant, who partly inspired Bram Stoker’s Gothic classic Dracula. A visit to Bran Castle would be an excellent choice for an unforgettable immersion into the myths and fables that surround vampires and Halloween.
