With so much hype for national parks like Banff and Jasper, Waterton Lakes is sort of a local’s secret in the Alberta Rockies.  It’s one of my favourite places.  It’s one of the best places in the world to spot bears and the landscapes are brilliant.

I took this image on a strangely calm morning on the lake.  Generally, the wind howls through here at sunrise giving the shores a more coastal feel.  But with perfect light, and a mirror reflection, this was just the perfect morning to have the camera out on the lake.
