I’m back in Canada… spending money.

A little while ago, I mentioned that I’ve teamed up with American Express to test their AIR MILES Platinum Credit Card, and I thought it was time for a bit of an update.

I’ve been browsing through the rewards section of the AIR MILES website and have noticed how many great travel-related rewards there are. I will be using some of the miles that Amex so graciously donated to me to purchase a flight back home for Christmas, but there are so many other options. From hotels, to rental cars, to event tickets and merchandise, there are so many items to choose from.

Earning the miles is said to be the hard part, but that’s not really the case. You earn 1 mile for every $10 spent on the card at any sponsor location. In fact, it can be even easier than that. At Airmilesshops.ca, you can find all sorts of items you might need on your travels, such as apparel, footwear, and other accessories for exploring. If you’re a travel photographer like me, you can even earn miles buying your photo gear, lenses, and even photography books at the online shop.

With the new American Express AIR MILES Platinum Credit Card, I also earn 1 mile for every $10 spent on eligible everyday spending at gas stations, drugstores and grocery stores, even if they’re not AIR MILES sponsors. I also earn 1 mile for every $15 I spend everywhere else.

Using your card will put you on the fast track to enjoying some great adventures. Shopping withsponsors consistently will allow you the opportunity to enjoy adventure activities like these.

If you’re looking for a way to go on a nice vacation and saving isn’t happening, spending at the right locations can mean all the difference. Smart shopping can mean a fast track to an exotic trip, or even some nice travel merchandise.
