Azores Photography Tour

As we explored the Azores on the first ever Azores photography tour in 2024, we kept saying to ourselves: how are there no other photographers here? It’s far more photogenic that I personally expected, and far under-travelled than any of us expected.

In fact, it’s one of the most beautiful places in the world. In many ways, the harshness of the weather reminded me of Iceland. But there were spots on the islands that looked like they could be in Ireland, Scotland, South Africa, Hawaii, or so many other places. And of course, much of it was totally unique to the Azores.

In 2025, I’ll be leading another photography tour and workshop to this incredible place.

Photos from The Azores

There are some beautiful photo spots in The Azores. Obviously, I haven’t had a chance to photograph them all. And, on my previous trip here I fought with bad weather. Still the images below were all taken on a 7 day trip to The Azores in February.

  • ancient volcanic rock below a house made from volcanic rock. Volcano behind it.
  • fishing village on the coast. One of the best photo spots on The Azores Islands.
  • View into a volcanic caldera.
  • crazy waves on volcanic rocks
  • small fishing village with a winding road
  • abandoned lighthouse on Faial Island.
  • waterfall down a cliff on the coast of the Azores
  • the volcano crater on Sao Miguel Island
  • a house made of volcanic rock on Pico Island. Backdropped by the volcano.
  • swimming pool in nature with building
  • a road through a forest and fog in the Azores Islands
  • lighthouse on a cliff in nordeste
