This page contains the information regarding our general refund policy in regards to payments on our travel photography workshops and tours around the world. If something within this page is not clear, please email brendanvanson at gmail dot com for more information.
Non-Refundable Deposits
We require non-refundable deposits on all our travel photography workshops. The reason we need these deposits is because we usually have to place non-refundable deposits on things like hotels, flights, and transport to secure your bookings.
The price of the non-refundable deposit will vary depending on the particular tour. If there are flights, for example, the cost of the deposit might be higher than on the tours where there are fewer things we need to book well in advance.
The deposit can be refunded on occasion. For example, if we fill your place on the tour it’s sometimes possible to partially refund the deposit. However, this will be done at our discretion and on a tour-to-tour basis. Information regarding this particular policy will be made clear on the booking page of each tour.
The deposits will always be refunded if the tour is cancelled by us.
Cancellation Refunds
If you’ve paid the full amount of the tour price, there are times that we can make a refund. Below are our policies.
- Full refund, minus the deposit, will be granted if cancellation is made more than 60 days before the tour start date.
- A 50% refund, minus the deposit, will be granted if cancellation is made more than 30 days before the tour start date.
- No refund will be given if the cancellation is made within 30 days of the tour start date.
- A full refund, minus the deposit, can be granted at any time if we find someone to fill your place on the tour.
If We Cancel
It is extremely rare that we would ever cancel a tour. Possible reasons we might do so are:
- Lack of meeting the minimum number of participants.
- Tour leaders become unavailable.
- Political situation.
If we need to cancel the tour, you will be returned a full refund.
If We Cancel within the Tour Dates
In an even more rare situation, we may need to cancel the remainder of a workshop in the middle of the tour. Possible reasons this might occur are:
- Political situation.
- Extreme Weather.
If this happens, clients will not receive a refund. Of course, we will provide 100% support to our participants to ensure their safety.
Transferable Refunds
Non-refundable parts of payment cannot be transferred to future tours. However, in certain cases, if a participant loses payment that falls in the category of non-refundable, it may be transferable to future tours or workshops. However, the amount of which may be used as a discount for a future tour is completely at our discretion.
