Editing this video from Gabon some 6 months later makes me see how rough of shape I actually was during this stretch of Africa. I talked quite a bit about the fact that loneliness was starting to hit me pretty hard by the time I got here, but here you can actually see it. Sure, part of it is the fact that I was exerting a lot of effort in Africa, and part of it was that I wasn’t eating the best foods, but a huge factor was the fact that I was always eating alone, and sometimes it’s just hard to sit down for a proper meal if you’re always by yourself.
Anyways, this is the video from the time I got stuck in Franceville, Gabon waiting for my trusted scooter Anne Murray to meet me on the train. I was told it would only take a day or two, but in the end it took me nearly a week to get her. Stay tuned for future episodes as I start to creep into the Congo.
