I can’t believe how quickly I’m getting caught up on all these videos. Only a month ago I was still working on videos from Central Africa, now I’m all the way to Namibia and my crazy adventures there. One of the more insane adventures I had in Namibia was this skydive with Ground Rush Adventures out of Swakopmund. They literally called me and said “we’re picking you in 5 minutes for a skydive, get ready.” I had no chance to prepare mentally, which was probably a good thing. I really felt no fear or nervousness about the skydive at all. Actually, the only thing that made me nervous was the fact that I wasn’t nervous.
Sitting on the edge of the plane, with my feet out the door dangling over the desert of Namibia, I felt a quick moment of what the hell are you doing. But before I knew it I was rolling out of the plane and down towards the earth. I was blown away by how in control you feel when you’re falling. You feel like you’re swimming almost, as if you can move your hands slightly and turn or twist. It really is the most amazing feeling. I was also surprised by the fact that though you are, it doesn’t really feel like you’re falling.
Anyways, I hope you liked the video of me skydiving in Namibia. If you ever get to Africa, give the guys at Groud Rush Skydiving a call and do this. It’s great value, the dive only runs about $200 and you’ll be hard pressed to find a better rate or location to do it than Swakopmund, Namibia.
