Lucerne, switzerland

To say these past couple weeks have been a bit of an adventure for me, is an understatement.  Of course, it’s been a completely different adventure than driving a scooter down the length of Africa, or wandering the streets of Haiti, but an adventure nonetheless.  4 months ago I never would have imagined I’d find myself sitting in a Swiss house in Lucerne doing the “Meet the Parents” routine.

In Amsterdam, I met up with Tiffany and started life on the road with someone else for the first time in my life.  From there, we flew to her hometown of Lucerne, where I was privileged enough to meet her family.

Over cheese fondue, cheese raclette, and at times just sticks of melted cheese, we chatted about her father’s former professional soccer life, army time, and days as a career man.  We listened and laughed with Tiffany’s eccentric mother, and drank enough in hopes to get her to start yodelling for us.  I was barked at by their suspicious 15-year old dog.  All-in-all, it was an amazing time, I really felt welcomed into the family.

Well in Lucerne, I also got out of the house a couple times to explore one of the most beautiful cities in Europe.  Tiffany and I headed down to old town on our final night in Lucerne to take pictures along the touristy riverfront and within the old town.  Here are some photos from that day in Lucerne.  Next stop: Berlin.
