This a video from my youtube travel channel “It’s My Life 365”. Basically, like all my travel videos, this isn’t just a motorcycle crash video, this is a clipping from my entire day. The premise of the show, if you haven’t seen it yet, is to take a 3-7 minute cross-section of my life each day. On this day, yeah, I had a bit of a spill. A Motorcycle Crash on the Way to Monrovia, Liberia
This video, shows pretty clearly what my time travelling around Sierra Leone has been like. I have spent a lot of time on motorcycles, which they call Okadas in Sierra Leone, and I have spent a lot of time on bumpy roads. However, the beauty of Sierra Leone has been that despite the bumps in the road and the minor trials and tribulations, the smiling faces of the locals and the amazing sights along the way have made it a place in which I always travel with a smile on my face.
In this week’s video, I catch a series of motos from Tiwai Island and make my way to the capital of Liberia. On the way, I get into a minor motorcycle crash in which I somehow managed to escape with just a cut on my knee. The cut, however, is really deep and we are a long way from any sort of hospital. I do manage to get some alcohol on it, and I’m still in very good spirits despite the spill. As I arrive in Monrovia, I decide to treat myself a little bit with a fancy room at the Palm Hotel; and maybe I’m a little jogged from the motorcycle crash still, but I’m very excited about my room.
